I want to start by telling you my short story and WHY I started my doula journey. Both of my pregnancies were rough. I experienced extreme weight gain, heartburn, nausea, ligament pain, and all the other book symptoms. During my labors, I felt lonely and controlled. Although my husband and many others were there to support, I had no idea what I needed or how they could help. In the following months, I experienced severe postpartum depression. I didn't know that there was an easier way. Doula work was brought to my attention about a year ago when a friend called me up and asked if I would be their doula. I had no idea what a doula was or what they did. After long conversations, I was all over the idea. I LOVED IT. A few months after, I had another mom mention doula work, and so on until I finally decided to leap. Now it is my goal to help women find their power during their childbirth process.

So, what is a doula?A birth doula is an educated individual who helps mom's through their child-birth journey as well as providing continuous, one-on-one care, information, physical support, and emotional support to birthing persons and their partners.
During delivery, doulas are in constant and close proximity to the mother. They can provide comfort with pain-relief techniques, including breathing techniques, relaxation techniques, and laboring positions. |

What to expect when working with Jerica...
Experience 2 prenatal appointments, labor and delivery, and a postpartum session.
You will also have access to me throughout your entire pregnancy and 12 weeks postpartum.
Pregnancy Appointment 1: Getting to know each other.
Let's talk about your birth! What do you want to happen? How do you envision your labor experience?
We will also talk about any questions or concerns you have. Continuous support through texts and calls when needed will be provided before the birth.
Pregnancy Appointment 2: Rejuvenation Session
This session will provide comfort and deep relaxation soon before birth.
I will come to teach you exercises, movements, relaxation techniques, and provide you with a deep rejuvenating session using previous training to provide your body the comfort it needs. Most moms experience pain and discomfort in their last few weeks. My goal during this session is to release some of that unwanted tension.
I will bring a portable massage table, towels, aromatherapy items, an oil defuser, and other needed items.
Labor and Delivery: I'm here to help.
This day will be a day you will remember for the rest of your life. My goal is to let you and dad remember this day as stress-free as possible. I want this to be a day of positivity and light for you. I have been taught multiple techniques to help body relaxation, help mom and the baby, and guide dad to help with assistance and emotional and physical support.
I also provide photography during the labor and delivery for you to treasure these precious moments.
Postpartum Appointment: An appointment for the mom and dad.
This would be 5-10 days after birth. I will go over tips and tools for Dad, grandma, or friend to help mom out. Mom needs to get back to herself again. Pregnancy and labor is a long process—continuous messaging support for 12 weeks when needed.
You will also have access to me throughout your entire pregnancy and 12 weeks postpartum.
